Actually, it's starting off as BCX Basic (which is converted to C before compile). With each release, BCX usage gets reduced. Between 0.1 and 0.2 , a lot of the socket connections were converted to pure C WinSock code. Pretty much I use BCX for the shortcuts.

Great. Something which will need to be implemented in a future version of thid command line tool is the ability to have the command line tool and server on different boxes, maybe using SOAP or just HTTP requests to call actions on the server.
Something worth doing with your script might be to use the SDK as the script which does all the processing side on the server, it's already set up to do most of the work for you. I wrote a small experimental script a while ago called Pulse which used PHP GTK and PEAR::HTTP_Request on the client and IPB SDK on the server to actually do stuff. I can't seem to find the topic on it now, but it was a pretty interesting experiment:) -------------------- |

You know, that is a VERY good idea. That would shave a lot of time off of the server side scripting part of it. I was going to use PHP-GTK for the Platform-Independant version, but I'm starting to have second thoughts on that one. |
